Dear BSD families and community,
It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Janene Coughlin, our Central Office team member and friend. This morning we learned that Janene lost her battle with COVID-19. She was a longtime loyal employee of the Brandon School District.
All of us at the Brandon School District offer our deepest sympathy to Janene’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. This is tragic and heartbreaking news for our Brandon School District family. As a friend to all, Janene will be extremely missed. Janene worked in the Brandon Fletcher Intermediate kitchen before moving to the attendance clerk. She then moved to the middle school and finally central office.
Our team has made plans to respond to the emotional needs of our students and staff. For next week, we will offer resources and grief counseling support for any student in need. Please reach out to your building principal or teacher if your child is in need of support at any time.
We will all miss Janene very much as our school community grieves her loss. Please join us in offering our support and sympathy.
