Dear Brandon School District Staff and Families:
First of all, I would like to say how impressed I am with the school district. Since visiting the district, I have quickly realized the tradition of excellence, the dedication of staff, the friendliness of the school community, and the competitive spirit both academically and in extra-curricular activities. The school district vision of “Delivering the Highest Quality Education So Every Student Soars” is sincere.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about myself. I come to Brandon from Stockbridge Community Schools. After nearly 24 years of educational leadership and eight years of being a superintendent, I have worn many hats. In my career, I have been a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and superintendent. My experiences to date have helped shape me as the educational leader I am today. Drawing from past experiences has helped me along my journey to provide the best pathway forward in making important educational decisions. The best lessons that I have learned during the past two decades of educational leadership are that communication is paramount and that there is always room to improve.
I care deeply, and I know you do too, about each and every student. If we are to continue to work towards maximizing the learning potential of all students and search for high quality educational practices then we must always strive for excellence in everything we do. That excites me about Brandon School District because you already have the educational systems in place to continue to soar!
My task as your Interim Superintendent is to continue to progress with school improvement, ensure support for the well-being of every child, and navigate our COVID plans. None of us have an easy task at hand. Administration, staff, students, parents, and community will have COVID-19 related challenges throughout the rest of the school year. We will continue to be in this together and will take it one step at a time.
As we watch our students grow intellectually and as our staff continues to provide the best educational experiences for every student, I have no doubt that this school year will continue to be very successful. As your Interim Superintendent, I am thankful to be part of an outstanding district!
