Oakwood and Harvey Swanson Elementary Schools Invite you to our Parent Literacy Night!
Thursday, January 18 We are so excited to host Dr. Mary Bigler for all our Brandon elementary parents. This event will be Thursday, January 18th starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Brandon High School PAC. The main focus of this event is to provide all parents with helpful tips on how they can help support their children as readers at home. Reading expert, Dr. Mary Bigler, from Eastern Michigan University is a professional speaker who travels all around sharing practical, engaging ideas around literacy with parents and teachers. You can learn more about her here. This event isn’t just for parents. We will also have some of our classroom teachers providing engaging activities in the high school cafeteria with your children. All students who attend will be able to select a book to take home. There will also be a bounce house and fun activities for children to be entertained while you are listening to the speaker. This event is FREE and we are hoping for a HUGE turnout! Flyers have been sent home with your child, but I’ve also attached it to this email.
