News & Notes from BMS for December 17th, 2018
Holiday Spirit Week:Monday, December 17: Christmas/Winter PJs (must be Christmas or Winter theme) Tuesday, December 18: Mad About Plaid wear your favorite plaid shirt/plaid flannel shirt Wednesday, December 19: Holiday Hat/Socks wear a Santa hat, holiday headband, reindeer antlers, elf hat, etc. and/or Holiday Socks Thursday, December 20: Class Color Day 6th Grade Green 7th Grade White 8th Grade Red Friday, December 21: Ugly Christmas SweaterCandy Cane Grams: Candy Cane Grams will be sold during all lunches starting Monday, December 10 - Tuesday, December 18. The cost is 2 for $1.00. The Candy Cane Grams will be delivered during 7th hour on Thursday, December 20. Family Swim Day: Please read the attached flyer from our Brandon Aquatics Center about a Winter Pool Party. Patriot’s Pen: We have four students that are representing BMS at the district level for the VFW Patriots Pen Essay Competition on Sunday, January 6th. The four students are Liv Miller, Taryn Marino, Alexsis Spragg & Taylor Salter. Margaret Gilbert and Joey Norris turned in strong essays as well. Congratulations to all of these students. D.C.: It's not too late to sign your student up for next year’s 8th grade trip to Washington DC. Currently we have 76 people signed up for this once in a lifetime learning adventure to our Nation's Capital, Williamsburg, Jamestown and Philadelphia in October of 2019. By signing up now, you can take advantage of the Gift of Education program through our Travel Company Worldstrides. Scholarships will be available in the New Year. Coffee Cart Sign Up 7th & 8th Grade Band Concert: BMS is having our 7th & 8th grade band concert Tuesday, December 18th in the Brandon High School Performing Arts Center.
