News & Notes from BMS for February 4th, 2019
Spirit Day: Thursday, February 14th: Valentine's Day 6th grade wears Pink 7th grade wears Red 8th grade wears Purple Valentine Grams: Student Leadership will start selling Valentine Sucker Grams during all lunches on Monday, February 4th - Tuesday, February 12th. They will be delivered during 7th hour on Thursday, February 14th and they will be 2/$1.00. Parents & Kids Empowered: The attached flyer has a great opportunity for parents and students. The Brandon School District is committed to developing the whole child. Programs like these recognize that there is more to learning reading, writing, and math. Lady Blackhawks Basketball: Please read the attached flyer for information about our Girls Basketball program. Career Readiness: Oakland Schools is hosting a Career Readiness Parent Expo on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019. The attached flyer has more details. Yearbooks: You have until Friday, February 15th to order personalized yearbooks online. We do not plan to order additional yearbooks to sell at the end of the year, so this will be your only opportunity...So order NOW! Use the attached order form, or click on the web link below to order your yearbook online TODAY! Don’t be left out. Order now before we sell out! Use the link below to order your yearbook today. BMS Yearbook Order Fundraiser: Our school is a contestant in this year’s Spirit Bracket Challenge sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings. For the first round we are competing with other schools and our designated date is Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Simply distribute the attached flyer to everyone that you know, tell them to present it to their server and 20% of their total bill will go back to Brandon Middle School. It’s as easy as that! Robotics: There is a meeting for new students to join the BMS robotics team. Please read the attached flyer for more details. Athletics: There will be a parent-player informational meeting on Thursday, February 21st, 5:30pm in the middle school cafeteria for any 7th and 8th grade students interested in playing MS Baseball and MS Softball this spring. Practice schedules, games schedules, costs related to the season and other pertinent information will be discussed. Please make plans to attend. *All players must have a current physical and athletic contract on file in order to start practices on March 18th. If the student has already participated in a Fall or Winter sport at BMS, their physical should be on file.
