News & Notes from BMS for October 7, 2019
Spirit Day: Wednesday, Oct 16: Brandon Blue - 7th & 8th Football Yearbooks: Yearbooks are still for sale. Take advantage of the offer this month for $37.00 +tax. The price increases again after November 1. Order on jostens.com or use the attached order form & return to your child's 1st hour Seminar teacher. The Yearbook Cover Contest: The contest began on 9/30/19 and all entries are due by the end of the day on Monday, 10/7/19. The theme is "Be Your Best at BMS!" The cover criteria are as follows: · Represent the theme in a creative way · Use color; Especially use Brandon Blue effectively · Incorporate the theme entirely/completely · Use 8.5"x 11" unlined, white paper · Proofread - there cannot be spelling/grammatical mistakes · You may use pencil, pen, marker, etc. · Pencil drawings/lines must be dark enough to see when the image/drawing is scanned into a computer · Deadline = Monday, October 7, 2019 /submit to Mrs. Daniels in Room 134 (art room) Parks & Recreation: There is now a Boys Jet Basketball League for Brandon students in grades 4th – 6th grade. The attached flyer has more details. Parent-Help Group: Parent-teacher conferences take place on Tuesday, October 8th (3pm-6pm) and Wednesday, October 9th (3pm - 8pm). On Wednesday, the BMS Parent Help Group is providing a pizza and salad dinner for the teachers and staff who are staying late to meet with parents. We are in need of volunteers to help set up, clean up and to contribute desserts, drinks and paper products. If you would like to help, please use this link BMS Teacher Dinner and sign up. Please drop off any items being contributed no later than 2pm on the day Wednesday October 9th. Items needing refrigeration can be placed in the staff lounge refrigerator. A few staff members have a nut allergy. Please avoid items containing nuts! Thank you so much for for your help! Haunted Barn Trick or Treating: The Brandon Middle School would like to invite the families of Brandon Middle School to participate in the “Haunted Barn Trick or Treating” at O.A.T.S on Saturday, October 26, 2019, from 6p – 7p. Each BMS Seminar class will decorate a barn stall for Halloween and the elementary students in the Brandon community will go through the barn “Trick or Treating”.
