News & Notes from BMS for January 8th, 2021
7th Grade Parents: The Washington DC trip for next fall has extended the deadline to sign up. Currently we have 59 students signed up for this trip and financial aide is becoming available, so now is the time to get signed up. Please see the attached flyer for more details or contact Steve Hendershott at shendershott@brandon.k12.mi.us or 248-627-1830 ext 1349 Winter 1 Sports: 7th & 8th Volleyball is scheduled to finish their season. Practices can start again on Tuesday January 19th, 2:00-4:00pm in BMS gym. Games will be played on M-W-F starting on January 25th and the season will end on February 5th. An updated schedule has been posted to the Athletic website (www.brandonblackhawks.org). Winter 2 Sports: 7th & 8th Boys Basketball, 7th & 8th Competitive Cheer and Co-Ed 6th, 7th & 8th Boys/Girls Swim/Dive. These sports are scheduled to start the week of February 1st and February 8th. *Please check the athletic website and click on Tryouts for specific dates/times and locations. Any student interested in participating must have a MHSAA physical and Brandon Athletic Contract on file before attending practice. As of now, we are unsure if spectators will be permitted at our indoor Winter athletic games & contests. We will continue to update everyone as we receive more information from the MDHHS and the MHSAA.If you have any additional questions, please contact the Athletic Department. Ski & Snowboard Club: Parks & Rec. are offering a great deal to all skiers and snowboarders. Please read the attached flyer for more details. STEM: The application for STEM Pathways Academy is now available on the STEM website. (See Quick Links on the BHS homepage) It has a due date of March 19.
