News & Notes From BMS for the Week of December 12th, 2016 Spirit Days: Thursday December 15-Brandon Blue Day & Friday December 16-Red, White & Green Day. Athletics / Conditioning: Is your student athlete interested in a speed, strength and conditioning program that is highly recommended by our coaches? Please see the attached flyer and sign-up sheet for more information. BMS December Activities: Each Seminar class will collect money to purchase gifts for Adopt a Family. Money will be collected starting on Monday, November 28, 2016 through Wednesday, December 7, 2016. The gifts will be wrapped on Thursday, December 8, 2016 and delivered to OCEF. BMS will also be collecting new hats, gloves, mittens to donate to OCEF. This will begin on Monday, November 28, 2016 through Thursday, December 7, 2016. Candy Cane grams will go on sale December 5th – 14th during lunches. They will cost $1 each. School Closings: Please see the attached document from Dr. Outlaw that will give you all kinds of information to help guide you if the Brandon School District was to ever close school for any reason. BMS Co-Ed, 7th and 8th grade Swim Club Announcement: If your son or daughter is interested in participating in BMS Swim, please plan to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday Dec. 14th, 5:30pm in the BMS Cafeteria. For more details regarding the club, please read the two documents attached or visit the athletic website at www.brandonblakchawks.org/ms_coed_swimming If you have additional questions, please contact the high school athletic office, 248-627-1827. Therapy Dog: Starting on Thursday, December 15, 2016 BMS is going to have a therapy dog available for students. The dog, Honey, is going to be in a side room of our Media Center only. Honey will be here on Thursdays from 9:30-11:30. Please read the attached letter for further details. 8th Grade Cedar Point Trip: This year’s 8th graders are going to Cedar Point on June 12th, 2017. Please save the date and more details will be provided in the very near future. Breakfast with Santa: Bring your little ones to have breakfast with Santa at Oakwood Elementary on December 10th from 9:00 – 10:30. See that attached flyer for more details.
