Spirit Week: Monday, Jan 30: Pattern Day (wear at least 3 different patterns, socks do not count) Tuesday, Jan 31: Favorite Holiday Day (Halloween costumes must follow the rules) Wed., Feb 1:Stoplight Day: Green - oldest child in family/only child Yellow - middle child Red - youngest child Thursday, Feb 2: Rainbow Day (wear at least 4 colors, sock DO count if not white) Friday, Feb 3: Brandon Blue Day Water Bottle Refill Station: We still need your help to purchase a 3rd water bottle refill station here at BMS. Brandon Township Parks & Recreation: Please see the four attached flyers for additional information on several different opportunities though our local parks and recreation. Study Skills Group: Please see the attached flyer for a study skills group offered through Oakland University. Education Exploration Night: Please make sure to put January 31st from 5:00 – 8:00 on your calendars. This is the one time of year where we highlight every single class, club, sport, and activity that happens at BHS all in one night. More information will be forthcoming. We hope to see you all there. Please see the attached letter. 8th Grade DC Trip: We are eight months away from our 8th grade Washington DC Trip, and it's still not too late for you to sign them up for this awesome trip. There are three easy ways to register: 1. Use the packet that was sent home in October, 2. Go to www.worldstrides.com/signup or 3. Call worldstrides Customer Service at 1-800-468-5899, and begin preparing for your student to experience five nights and four days of exciting learning. They will be able to come back to Ortonville and Brandon Middle School and apply what they saw and learned into the classroom. More importantly, they will experience a once in a lifetime experience in one of the most important cities in America. The meeting will be held in the Brandon Middle School Media Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. Brandon Secondary Teacher of the Year: Jeb Laux is this year's recipient of Brandon School District's Secondary Teacher of the year. Mr. Laux does so many amazing things for all of us here at BMS. He is an amazing teacher, coach, mentor, and friend. He is now eligible for the Oakland County Outstanding Teacher of the Year award through Oakland Schools. There is a cash prize and a recognition event on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Please take a moment to congratulate him on this great achievement and to wish him luck while moving on to the next round.
