Yearbooks for Sale: Yearbooks are currently for sale for $40. Please consider purchasing a yearbook for your student this year! Yearbooks are pre-order only. Unlike years past, there will not be extra yearbooks available in the spring for purchase. Orders can be placed online through the link on the BMS website, or by visiting jostens.com. There are order forms are available in the Counseling Office for cash or check purchases.

Spirit Day: Wednesday, Feb 8:  Brandon Blue - Boys Basketball

D.C. Trip: As we enter Black History Month, it’s pretty interesting, and always a very cool thing, that the 8th graders will  travel to the Lincoln Memorial where Dr. Martin Luther Jr. gave his "I have a dream!” speech, and your student will have a chance to stand in the exact spot and look at the Capital Building across the reflecting pond where thousands of people stood when he gave that speech. They will also look at the Capital building from the Lincoln Memorial, where our new President took the Oath of Office and delivered his first speech as President.  We will also travel to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and read and talk about many of his famous speeches and what he helped America learn about Civil Rights in the late 50's and 60's, before many of us were born. These are only a few of the educational things we hope to teach and show your student on this trip. It's getting closer each day

Therapy Dog: BMS has a therapy dog, Symphony, who is going to visit us on Wednesdays from 9:00-11:00. Teachers can sign students up and Symphony will be in our Media Center. You can also contact our Media Clerk Cindy Rocheleau at crochele@brandon.k12.mi.us so your student can have some time with Symphony.

Reconfiguration Meeting: Dr. Outlaw is holding a question and answer session about possible reconfiguration of Brandon Middle School on Monday, February 6th from 5:00-6:00pm. The meeting will be held in the Brandon Middle School Media Center. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Have a great day and GO BLACKHAWKS!!
