News & Notes from BMS for August 11th, 2017
Summer Office Hours: Our new summer office hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Mondays – Fridays. Registration: BMS registration day is Monday, August 28th from 8:30-11:30 and from 12:30-2:30. This is also our picture day. If you completed the online registration process your student’s schedule will be available. Registration can be done using the parent portal. We will also have computers available here to complete the process as well. Please read the following attachment from HR Imaging regarding school pictures. Bus Captains: As you are aware this coming school year our 6th grade students will be riding the bus with fellow middle school and high school students. In an effort to ensure that their bus ride to and from school provides a friendly and safe environment, the administrative teams from the middle and high school have partnered with our transportation department. The administration will identify 4-5 high school students as bus captains for each route throughout the district. These students will serve as mentors to our youth and make sure your child safely gets to and from school each day while building a positive relationship with them. We hope that this initiative will not only help alleviate any stress or fears, but more importantly build stronger relationships among our students and community. Allergy Reminder: This is a reminder that all BMS classrooms are peanut/nut butter, tree nuts, and egg free. However, your student is allowed to bring these food items to be eaten in our cafeteria at lunch time. Our stage area is going to be a peanut/nut butter, tree nuts, and egg free zone. That means if your student brings any of these items in their lunch they have to eat their lunch on the main level of the cafeteria.
