News & Notes from BMS for January 29th, 2018
Spirit Days: Here are the spirit days for Snowcoming Week: Monday, January 29th: College Day (wear any college gear) Tuesday, January 30th: Patriotic Day (wear red, white, and blue, flag shirt, etc. - NO CAMO clothing) Wednesday, January 31th: Super Hero/Villain Day (dress as Batman, Superman, etc. or your favorite villain) Thursday, February 1st: Group matching Day (pick at least two or more students in your Seminar class and dress alike or pick a theme such as a box of crayons, etc.) Friday, February 2nd: Brandon Blue 2018-19 STEM Pathway Applications: STEM Pathway applications are now available online and they are due by Wednesday, February 14. Interested students can access the application through the Brandon High School STEM quick link located on the BHS homepage. Please use the following links for easier access. BHS STEM Application BHS STEM Homepage Family Engineering Night: Oakland Schools is sponsoring a Family Engineering Night. This is for ages 10-15. This program is for our next generation of critical thinkers and problem solvers. Read the attached flyer to learn more about this amazing opportunity. Lady Blackhawks Youth Open Gym: Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Jason Sheldon is holding a series of youth open gyms this winter. This is an opportunity for girls who have played before to receive instruction from our coaches and players and to introduce the game to those who have never played. Each session is an hour and a half long and is completely free of charge. It is an open gym so there is no need to sign up, any girl grades 3-8 can stop in and play. See the attached flyer for more details. Student Schedules: Second semester student schedules went home with your student on Thursday, January 25th. You can still view or print the schedule in Parent Portal. Make sure to click the"show all" button in order to see the complete schedule. If your student needs a copy of their second semester schedule we can print one for them in either one of our two offices. Student Pick Up: After 2:45 all students need to be picked up at the front entrance of BMS. We are having too many students in an area that is unsupervised. I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter. Harry Potter Mini Golf: The Brandon Township Public Library is hosting a mini golf event. See the attached flyer for more details.
