News & Notes from BMS for March 5th, 2018
Spirit Day: Friday, March 16th wear green and/or orange for St. Patrick’s Day Yearbook: Please consider purchasing a yearbook! Time is running out for pre-orders. We do not plan to order additional copies for sale after the yearbooks arrive in June. Sometimes, the company does send extras that we can sell, but it varies from year to year. Yearbook orders can be made online at the BMS website, or you can fill out an order form and turn it in with cash, check, or money order. Order forms are available outside the Student Services Office. Yearbooks are $45. Bowling Tryouts: Tryouts will be on Tuesday March 6th and Wednesday March 7th 4:00pm at Cherry Hill Lanes. Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader interested in participating must have a physical and athletic contract on file before they can start practice. For more information, pick up a packet in the middle school student services office or contact coaches: Susan Tower, 248-343-5438 (text or call, no voicemail) or Cindy Huckabone, 248248-303-8552. Future Problem Solvers: Congratulations to the Brandon Future Problem Solvers who will be representing Brandon at the State competition at Michigan State University on the weekend of March 17-18. In addition to six teams receiving invitations to compete at State Bowl, one of our Brandon Middle School students, Annaliese Elliott, is a scenario finalist, and will receive a medal for her achievement. Parent-Help Group: There is a Parent-Help Group meeting on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018 from 6-7P.M. in the BMS Media Center. This is a great chance to get involved with BMS activities. Glow Dance: BMS is having a Glow themed dance on Friday, March 9th from 6:30-9:00 in the BMS cafeteria. Use the link below to volunteer and please read the attached flyers for more details. Volunteer link D.C. Trip: It is not too late to sign your student up for our 8th grade Washington D.C. trip set to take place next year in October. Currently we have a wait list for the trip, but if enough people continue to sign up, then we will be able to order another bus and tickets in advance for many of the sights that we will be going to, in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. You can sign up by contacting Worldstrides at 1-800-468- 5899 and use trip number 152952, or go online to www.worldstrides.com/signup and register. Again use trip number 152952. Yearbook Photos: Please share any photos of BMS students participating in school events and activities, including sports. You can upload them directly through the RePlayIt app (free). The RePlayIt app and website allow users to see all BMS photos in one place for the entire school year. Alternatively, you can email photos for yearbook consideration to kmanderson@brandon.k12.mi.us with the subject "yearbook pictures." Thank you!
