News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of March 25, 2019
Calling All Hockey Players: The United High School Hockey Team has openings for students in grades 8-11. The season is April 5th – May 20th. Contact Patrice Lubin for more details at (810) 724-1369 or at UnitedHockeyTeam@gmail.com Testing: Standardized testing for all students in grades 9-11 will take place the week we return from Spring Break. Please look for a separate email next week for detailed information about this testing. SAT Prep for Juniors: SAT Preparation classes continue this week on Monday and Wednesday, from 2:30 – 3:30. With the test coming up on April 9th, take advantage of this valuable information. The College Board also encourages you to go to Khan Academy for SAT practice as well. Blood Drive: This Thursday, March 28th the Brandon High School Student Council will be hosting a Blood Drive. If you are interested in giving blood on this day, please contact Cristina Sulisz at csulisz@brandon.k12.mi.us. We would love to have you contribute to the gift of life! Marking Period #3 Ends: The end of Marking Period #3 is March 12th. Please check your student’s grades through the parent portal and make sure that they have all of their assignments in. Seniors: Please see the Counseling Office for multiple local scholarships in which you could apply for. Also, please check out the Counseling Scholarship and Financial Aid informational page to help you in your quest to help pay for college. FML All Academic Team: Congratulations to seniors Elijah Buell, Cooper Hickmott, and Noah Cox for being named to the Flint Metro League All Academic Team. Upcoming Dates to Place on Your Calendar Now: March 29th – ½ Day of School March 30th – April 7th – Spring Break April 9th – SAT / PSAT Testing for Grades 9-11 (No School for Seniors) April 10th – Work Keys Testing for all Juniors April 12th – End of 3rd Marking Period April 16th – MSTEP Testing for all Juniors April 18th – Report Cards Sent Home April 19th – No School Have a Great Week and Go Blackhawks!
