News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of October 7, 2019 Parent / Teacher Conferences: Parent teacher conferences are this Tuesday (3:00 – 6:00) and Wednesday (5:00 – 8:00). Our teachers look forward to meeting with you and talking about your student’s progress. Academic Success Coordinators: We have two Academic Success Coordinators at Brandon High School whose sole purpose is to help our students be successful academically. They offer after school home work help / tutoring, are working with our students to keep them organized, and offer many other supports. Please stop by and see them at Parent Teacher conferences to discuss your child’s needs. Theresa Bills and Laura Tokie can also be reached at academicsuccess@brandon.k12.mi.us Picture Retakes: For those students who have not had their picture taken, or would like picture retakes, we will be doing these on Monday, October 7th. Dress pretty! Ford Drive One for Your School: This Saturday October 12th, Brandon High School will be hosting a fundraiser for all athletic teams, clubs and activities. All we ask is 15 minutes of your time to test drive a Ford Vehicle and you can designate $20.00 to be given to your favorite sports team, club or activity. See the attached flyer for more details. Thank you Randy Wise Ford for your commitment to our students! Cosmetology: Increasingly, students have been interested in cosmetology as a career after high school. Please see the attached flyer if your student may be interested in taking high school classes towards this certification. AP Registration - Any student planning on taking an AP Exam was required to submit payment to the counseling office last week. If your student has not yet submitted payment, please have them do so as soon as possible. If a student originally did not plan on taking a given AP Exam, and changes their mind, we can still order them a test until November. Please see Mr. Brennan in the Counseling Office for information. FAFSA OPENED for the 2020-21 school year on October 1st! - College-bound students will want to submit the FAFSA as soon as they are able, in order to be in line for as much financial aid as possible.
