News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 13, 2020
Reminder: There will be a half day of school this Friday, January 17th, and no school on January 20th. Have a great long weekend! 9th Grade Vision Testing: This week all 9th grade students will have their vision tested through the Oakland County Health Department. If you would like to opt your student out of this testing, please send principal Dan Stevens this request in writing. He can be reached at dstevens@brandon.k12.mi.us Teacher of the Year: Is there a Brandon High School teacher that has really made a difference in your son or daughter’s life? Please consider nominating them for the Teacher of Year by clicking on the link HERE. Juniors and Seniors: Did you know that you could earn both high school and college credit simultaneously while earning an Associate degree before ever graduating high school? Come and join us on Thursday, January 16th at 6:00 to find out more information. See the attached flyer for more details. Final Exams: Final Exam are worth 20% of your overall semester grade and are quickly approaching. Please make sure that you are starting to study now. January 22nd (Exams hours 1-2) January 23rd (Exams hours 3-4) January 24th (Exams hours 5-6) Cocoa and Cram: On January 21st there will be a special session for all freshmen to help them prepare for their final exams. This will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 with teachers and upper classmen helping guide students to be successful in all of their classes on their upcoming finals. Upcoming Events to Place on Your Calendar Now: January 17th – ½ Day of School January 20th – No School January 21st – Cocoa and Cram (study sessions for freshmen exams) January 22nd – 24th – ½ Day of School (Final Exams) January 24th – End of Semester #1 January 27th – No School January 31st – Report Cards Sent Home February 12th – Official State Count Day February 14th – ½ Day of School February 17th – No School February 22nd – Snowcoming Dance February 25th – 8th Grade Visits BHS February 25th – 8th Grade Expo Night March 3rd – 6th – Scheduling for all Students for Next School Year Have a Great Day and GO BLACKHAWKS!
