News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of February 24, 2020
Accelerated Options: As we prepare to schedule our student’s classes for next year, please see the attached “Accelerated Options” sheet for those students that would like to challenge themselves academically in the classroom. Any class with the designation of “AP” is weighted when it comes to calculating Grade Point Average. Current 8th Graders: On Tuesday, February 25th we will be having our annual 8th grade expo. At 6:00 pm. At this expo all parents and students will listen to a presentation from our high school administration, be able to talk to all teachers in all subject areas, as well as officially schedule your classes for next year. Scheduling: All students scheduling cards for next year are due by the end of the day Thursday, February 27th. Parents, please make sure that you approve your child’s schedule by signing the card. College Fair: Lake Orion High School has one of the largest College Fairs in the State of Michigan. We are encouraging all Juniors and Seniors to consider attending this fair on March 16th. Please see the attached flyer for more information and a list of colleges and universities that will be attending. Congratulations: Congratulations to Laura Frye who is this year’s Brandon School District Secondary Teacher of the Year! Seniors: Please see the attached senior bulletin which contains end of the year dates and information for our senior class. Get these dates on your calendar now! Parent Survey: We would love to get your feedback on how the Brandon School District is performing, so that we can continuously improve to meet our student’s needs. Please take a few minutes to fill out the Parent Survey so that we can obtain your feedback. Upcoming Events to Place on Your Calendar Now: February 25th – 8th Grade Visits BHS February 25th – 8th Grade Expo Night March 3rd – 6th – Scheduling for all Students for Next School Year March 9th – Spring Sports Begin March 10th – Voting Day March 11th – Parent / Teacher Conferences (5:00 – 8:00) March 13th – No School March 27th – ½ Day of School March 27th – End of 3rd Marking Period March 28th – April 5th – Spring Break Have a Great Day and GO BLACKHAWKS!
