News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of March 2, 2020
2020 Bond: What are some of the projects the bond will fund? Building repairs, security upgrades, Technology/STEM labs, playgrounds, roof repairs, parking lots, bathrooms and flooring, replacing old fencing, pool roof and dehumidification system, athletic and performing arts repairs and replacement. If you would like more information please refer to the website below. 2020 Bond Information Parent Teacher Conferences: Wednesday, March 11, 2020 we will hold our Spring Parent Teacher Conferences. Please plan on attending anytime between 5:00 – 8:00. Scheduling: Scheduling classes for next school year is taking place this week. Please make sure that you have gone over your student’s schedule with them, and have signed their scheduling card. College Fair: Lake Orion High School has one of the largest College Fairs in the State of Michigan. We are encouraging all Juniors and Seniors to consider attending this fair on March 16th. Please see the attached flyer for more information and a list of colleges and universities that will be attending. Seniors: Please see the attached senior bulletin which contains end of the year dates and information for our senior class. Get these dates on your calendar now! Spring Sports: Spring sports begin the week of March 9th. All students must have an active physical on file in order to tryout or practice. See the Athletic Department for more details. Flu and Cold Season: As we near Spring, right now is the high point for cold and flu season. Below are some ways you and your family can minimize the risk of being infected as well as transmitting it to others. * Avoid close contact with people who are sick. * Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. * Stay home when you are sick. * Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. * Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. * Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
