News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of April 13, 2020
School Starts on Monday: Direct instruction begins for all students on Monday, April 13th. Please make sure that your student is checking their school emails for invites from teachers to attend these Zoom or Google Hang out classes. If you are having trouble with this in any way, email your individual teachers. Technology: A big part of our educational plan moving forward is utilizing technology. If you are having any technology issues, or are in need of devices or internet services, please contact our technology department at help@brandon.k12.mi.us BHS Parent Update: Thank you so much to the over 400 parents that attended my Parent Update Zoom meeting on Thursday night. I hope that this was informative. A copy of this Power Point and Zoom presentation will be found on Monday by going to the main page of the Brandon High School website or by clicking HERE. Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. Dr. Outlaw’s Letter: Last week Dr. Outlaw sent out a letter updating parents as to how the Brandon School District was going to move forward with your student’s education. If for some reason you did not see this letter, it is attached to below. Charter Spectrum Internet: Spectrum is offering free high-speed internet to families in the Brandon / Ortonville area. Please see the attached flyer for more details on this service. Xello: Every student at Brandon High School must complete a valid EDP each year. Due to the school shut down, many of our students were unable to complete this during school time. Please have them use this time to complete this by using the attached instructional sheet. If you have any questions, please contact Karla Dean at kdean@brandon.k12.mi.us Work Permit: All students who work in the State of Michigan will need a work permit in order to do so. Please download and fill out the attached work permit and forward onto Principal Dan Stevens to sign and send back to you. Mr. Stevens email is dstevens@brandon.k12.mi.us Seniors: The High School administration would like to invite you to a Zoom meeting next Thursday at 11:00 to get your feedback on moving forward with things like graduation, Prom, Honors Night, and everything else that is important to you. Please watch your school emails for an invitation to this meeting. Advanced Placement: If your student is signed up to take any of the Advanced Placement tests in May, please see the attached letter from Mr. Brennan with some important information. It is highly encouraged that you still plan on taking these tests. I hope your family is safe and doing well.
