Brandon High School News and Notes for the Week of August 3, 2020
Back to School Registration: Regardless of whether or not you are a new student to Brandon High School, or someone that has been here their whole lives, we are asking that ALL families please update and complete the Online Back to School Registration forms. See the attached letter for more information and directions. Seniors: Last year’s SAT test that was scheduled to be given last year in April was cancelled, and is currently rescheduled to be taken September 23rd free of charge. It is highly recommended that you use Khan Academy or another preparation website to prepare for this extremely important test now. See below for additional SAT information. SAT Information: Many of our BHS students wish to take the SAT test multiple times in an effort to increase their score. Please see the SAT Website for more information. The following dates are the dates the test will be offered, and you must sign up for these on your own. (8/29, 9/26, 10/3, 11/7, 12/5). For those that qualify, you may be eligible for fee waivers to take this test free of charge. See the Fee Waiver Brochure for details Fall Sports: As of right now the MHSAA has approved Fall sports to carry on for the upcoming school year. Tryouts for all sports will be the week of August 10th. Make sure that you have a physical on file before the first day of tryouts. These physicals must be updated yearly. Brandon Learn From Home Option: Brandon Learn from Home option is now open for enrollment to all students for the 2020/2021 school year! Brandon Learn from Home is a remote learning option now available through the Brandon School District that creates a connection between children JK-12, their parents, teachers and the school through a shared partnership online learning experience. All Brandon Learn from Home courses are taught by Brandon teachers and the curriculum is identical to the curriculum at all levels within the Brandon School District. Working in conjunction with the counseling department, Brandon Learn from Home can create a schedule that works best for each student depending on course availability including full-time learn from home options, hybrid options, and vendor course options through VHS and Summit Virtual.
