News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of October 12, 2020
This Week’s Schedule: Monday – * “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Tuesday – * “B” Day (Hours 4-6) * PSAT Testing for all 9th Grade Students * Students in grades 10-12 will go to hours 4-6 like normal * Parent Teacher Conferences Virtually Wednesday – * Students in grades 10-11 will attend school in person for NMSQT and PSAT 10 testing. These students are free to leave school as soon as testing is over (Approximately 11:30) * Students in grades 9 and 12 will stay home and access their lessons and assignments for hours 1-3 through Google Classroom sites. * Parent Teacher Conferences Virtually Thursday– “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Friday – No School for all students Parent Teacher Conferences: Parent Teacher Conferences will be done virtually on October 13th and 14th from 4:00 – 7:00. Each of your student’s teachers should have sent you an email to sign up for a time for Parent Teacher Conferences. This link may also be on their Google Classroom page. If you did not receive this link please contact the individual teachers 9th Grade PSAT Testing: This will take place for all 9th grade students (both virtual and face-to-face students) on October 13th at Brandon High School starting at 7:20. BLFH students are free to leave when testing is complete (approximately 11:30) and face-to-face students will go to lunch and then return to their classes. Bussing will be available for all students at the regularly scheduled bus times. We would encourage all 9th grade students to look over the attached PSAT student guide for hints, practice questions, and test day information over the weekend. PSAT 10 / NMSQT Test: All 10th and 11th grade students (both virtual and face-to-face students) will take this test on October 14th starting at 7:20 at Brandon High School. All students are free to leave the school once testing is complete (approximately 11:30). A free lunch will be available for students in the cafeteria before they leave if they choose. Bussing will be available for all students at the regularly scheduled bus times. We would encourage all 10th and 11th grade students to look over the attached PSAT 10 / NMSQT student guide for hints, practice questions, and test day information over the weekend. Supporting Students From Home: To help support your students emotional needs at home please Click HERE for a site that contains tons of helpful lessons that parents can access to work with their kids on things like handling stress, dealing with the corona virus pandemic, experiencing grief, facing depression/anxiety, and many, many, more. Free Lunch Reminder: Through December, all school lunches and breakfasts at Brandon High School are free for ALL students. Please make sure to bring extra money with you if you would like to purchase something from the ala carte line or additional food.
