News and Notes From Brandon High School for the Week of December 7, 2020
Return to School: As of right now we are planning on returning back to school for face-to-face instruction on Wednesday, December 9th. However, please be aware that the Governor could extend the current stay at home action for all high schools in the state. We will keep you informed of this information as it becomes available. This Week’s Schedule: Monday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Tuesday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Wednesday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Thursday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Friday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Daily Schedule: 1st Block (1st or 4th Hour) – 7:20 – 9:15 2nd Block (2nd or 5th Hour) – 9:20 – 11:15 Lunch – 11:15 – 11:55 3rd Block (3rd or 6th Hour) – 11:55 – 1:50 * Please note that if we have a snow day called, there will be no school for both face-to-face learners as well as virtual learners. In the event that a snow day happens, our A-B-A-B-A-B schedule will still stay intact and we will shift the calendar with us returning to school on proceeding with the day that was missed. Letter From Our Nurses: Please see the attached letters from Halie and Rob, the Oakland County Health Department nurses that have been assigned to the Brandon School District. COVID / Sick: Even though we currently are not in school, please continue to let us know if your student has COVID-like symptoms or if anyone in the household has been diagnosed with COVID. Attached are some forms that have been sent out in the past to help guide you. Please remember to always call our attendance line if you are ever going to miss your classes for any reason. This line is available 24 hours a day at 248-627-1825. Seniors: We have a significant number of seniors that have not ordered their cap and gown yet. Please see the attached information so you can move forward with getting this ordered, as well as graduation announcements. Winter Sports Update: If you are a Winter athlete, please see the attached athletic update from our Athletic Director Chris Deines. Homework Club: Please click Homework Club to fill out the HWC form if you are interested in after school academic assistance or tutoring. This short questionnaire will help us understand how best to help you. Homework Club is offered from 1:50-3:00, Monday-Thursday, over Zoom. Once we are back in person, Homework Club will again be offered at Brandon High School in room 103.
