News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of December 14, 2020
We will remain with all virtual learning until January 4, 2021 This Week’s Schedule: Monday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Tuesday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Wednesday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Thursday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6) Friday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3) Daily Schedule: 1st Block (1st or 4th Hour) – 7:20 – 9:15 2nd Block (2nd or 5th Hour) – 9:20 – 11:15 Lunch – 11:15 – 11:55 3rd Block (3rd or 6th Hour) – 11:55 – 1:50 January Calendar: Please see the attached January calendar. Please note that if we have a snow day called, there will be no school for both face-to-face learners as well as virtual learners. In the event that a snow day happens, our A-B-A-B-A-B schedule will still stay intact and we will shift the calendar with us returning to school proceeding with the day that was missed. Curbside Christmas: Attention Virtual & Paused In-Person families! Were you hoping to give a teacher or staff member a gift this year? We are having a curbside gift drop off next week: Monday, Dec 14th & Tuesday, Dec 15th from 4-6pm at the ITEC Center (attached to the Middle School, 609 S. Ortonville Road). Our elves will be curbside to collect your gifts and deliver them to our virtual staff members. We are collecting on behalf of staff from all buildings: Oakwood, HSE, BMS and the high school. Please make sure your gift items include a tag with the staff member's name and grade, building or department in which they work. Please be sure to wear a mask when you drop off your items. Seniors: We have a significant number of seniors that have not ordered their cap and gown yet. Please see the attached information so you can move forward with getting this ordered, as well as graduation announcements. Cosmetology: Any sophomore interested in studying cosmetology next year at OSTC should check out this video of the Cosmetology Virtual Career Night. Free Food During the Holidays: Please be aware that the Brandon School District will still be providing ALL students with free food over the holidays. Please see our curbside pickup schedule on the attached flyer. Dates to Place on Your Calendar Now: December 19th – January 3rd - Christmas Break January 15th – 18th – No School (Mid Winter Break) January 26th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 1-2) January 27th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 3-4) January 28th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 5-6) January 28th – End of Semester #1 January 29th – No School February 5th – Report Cards Sent Home If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our school administrators.
