This Week’s Schedule:
Monday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6)
Tuesday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3)
Wednesday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6)
Thursday – “A” Day (Hours 1-3)
Friday – “B” Day (Hours 4-6)

Yearbooks:  Yearbooks are expected to arrive April 17th and distributed on April 18th.  We will get these out to our students as soon as they arrive.  Please see Mrs. Kelsey for additional details.

Summer School:  Summer school will be offered Monday – Thursday the weeks of June 21st, June 28th, and July 12th. If you are in need of recovering credits, please reserve these weeks.  We will be sending out sign up information starting the end of next week.   See your counselor to determine which classes you should be making up.

Metals / Drafting / Welding:  It is our hope that we will be able to offer classes in metals, drafting and welding for next school year.  If these classes interest you, please sign up in the counseling office so that we can get an idea of student counts and numbers.

Seniors:  Please see the most updated attached senior bulletin for all end of the year events.  We will continue to update you as state mandates and health protocols change.

Senior Exams:  Senior final exams are May 19th and 20th.  Please help your senior students make sure all work is made up by this time, that all money owed is taken care of, and they are prepared for final exams.  The last day of school for them is May 20th.

Chrome Books:  All seniors should plan on turning in their school issued chrome books on May 20th from 12:30 – 2:30 in the cafeteria.  Grades 9-11 can keep their chrome books over the summer and continue to use them next school year.  If you are experiencing any chrome book issues, please contact our technology department at help@brandon.k12.mi.us

Athletic Notes:
1.Weekly Antigen Testing & Vaccinations:  The updated order no longer requires fully vaccinated individuals to participate in the MDHHS weekly testing program.  An individual is considered to be fully vaccinated by the MDHHS definition two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson).  Fully vaccinated individuals are not subject to local health department (LHD) quarantine requirements when someone is deemed to be a close contact by the LHD.  In order to be exempt from weekly testing at Brandon, we will need a copy of the student-athlete's vaccination record or card.  Please provide this to the Athletic Office.

2. Previous Positive COVID Tests & Future Weekly Testing: individuals who have recovered from a positive COVID-19 diagnosis with a PCR test in the past three months (90 days) and remain symptom-free may participate in spring sports activities without weekly testing. An antibody test is not sufficient.  Please provide a copy of the Positive PCR results to the Athletic Office.

3.  Face Mask Requirements:  Contrary to current media reports, there is no change to face mask requirements for MHSAA spring sports from what has been done since March.  Face masks must be worn for outdoor activity (practice and competition) in the contact sports of Boys Lacrosse, Girls Lacrosse and Girls Soccer.  This includes all participants, coaches and all other team personnel; note that someone being fully vaccinated does not alter the MDHHS face mask requirements.  For the non-contact spring sports of Baseball, Golf, Softball, Tennis and Track & Field, participants must wear face masks except when involved in active outdoor participation (in the game, during the round, during the match, during the race/event, during active practice activity). Coaches and all other team personnel must wear face masks at all times, including participants when on the bench, in the dugout, between individual events, etc.   Remember that if any spring practice or competition moves indoors, all individuals (participants, coaches, team personnel) must wear face masks at all times.

4. Spring Sports Spectators:  Spring spectator limits have not changed which remain at 50% of the fire marshal capacity (if applicable) with a maximum of 1,000 outdoor spectators.  If an outdoor event has more than 100 spectators, face masks are required for spectators.  If an outdoor event has less than 100 spectators, face masks are no longer required.
