News and Notes for Brandon High School – Summer Updates
I hope everyone is having an amazing summer! It’s hard to believe that we only have 5 weeks left until we are back in session taking classes again. With our minds starting to think about coming back to school, I wanted to send a quick note with some reminders and information for you to help us all prepare for the upcoming school year, as well as some things that are taking place this summer. BHS Calendar: Please see the attached BHS calendar for upcoming important dates and events throughout the school year. Please attempt to make all necessary appointments at times when your student will be out of school to ensure that they maximize their learning time in school. See the attached daily schedule for a breakdown of what the school day will look like. Your online enrollment registration MUST be complete before this date (See attached letter). Seniors – 8:00 – 9:30 Juniors – 9:30 – 11:00 Lunch – 11:00 – 12:00 Freshmen – 12:00 – 1:30 Sophomores 1:30 – 3:00 Enrollment: Please be advised that ALL families must fill out the enrollment paperwork online for this upcoming school year (even if you have been a previous student in the Brandon School District). Work Permits: As many of our students obtain jobs over the summer, please remember that employees mandate that you obtain a work permit. Please see the attachment for the appropriate work permit based on our age. You can bring it into the main office for Mr. Stevens to sign during business hours. Driver’s Training: Brandon High School partners with Courtesy Driving School for all students looking to take Driver’s Training at any time during this upcoming school year. Please see their website for more information https://www.courtesydrivingschool.com/ Medications: Will your student be taking any kinds of medications at school (including aspirin, Tylenol, or other over the counter medications)? If so, these must be kept on file through our main office. Please bring them into our main office in the prescription bottle or original container that they were bought in and we will dispense these as needed during the school day. Free Summer Lunch Program: Be advised that our free summer lunch program has been extended, and is available for all Brandon students regardless of your income level. Please see the attached letter for more information and to answer all of your questions.
