News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of April 25, 2016 Parents and Community Members: Report Cards: All student report cards went home with your student last Friday. These grades can also be accessed online using the Parent Portal system. Please contact your student’s individual teachers if you have any questions about their grades. Juniors: We have recently learned that College Board will provide the opportunity for students to send their scores for Free to up to Four colleges. Students can log in to collegeboard.org to make these requests. They extended the deadline to do this until May16th. After that date, if colleges require for students to send their scores directly from College Board, it will cost $11.25 for each college the student would like the scores sent to. Senior Graduates: All seniors will receive 4 complimentary tickets to the June 12th graduation ceremony. The window is now open to request additional tickets if needed. All requests must be made in writing through email to Principal Dan Stevens at dstevens@brandon.k12.mi.us. Please include the graduate's name and the amount of additional tickets you would like to request. You can make this request now through May 6th. Teacher Appreciation Week: The week of May 2nd is Teacher Appreciation Week! Last year was our first annual Teacher Feast where parents brought in food during lunches to say thank you to our wonderful teaching staff. This year this feast will take place on Thursday, May 5th from 10:30 – 12:15. If you are able to bring in food at this time for our teachers it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Nancy Dery to let her know that you can bring in food, and what kind of food you will be bringing. Nancy can be reached at 248-627-1822 or at ndery@brandon.k12.mi.us. We are also looking for a couple of parents that would like to help facilitate this event on this day and help with its organization as parents drop off the food. Business Expo / Ice Cream Social: Mark Tuesday, May 3rd on your calendar for two amazing events going on together. The Ortonville Chamber of Commerce will be presenting their annual Business Expo while the BHS band will be entertaining you with good music and ice cream. Please see the attached flyer for more details. We hope to see you there! Prom: Please be informed that any student going to prom must be appropriately dressed. If you wonder if your student’s attire (especially dresses) are going to meet the dress code, please have your student see Mr. Tucker. Absolutely no 2 piece dresses will be permitted into prom.
