News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of May 2, 2016 Parents and Community Members: Seniors: Please see the attached Senior Bulletin for important end of the year information and dates. Senior Honors Convocation: Tuesday, May 10th is our annual Senior Honors Convocation. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend this event. If your student will be receiving an award, Scholarship, or recognition you will receive a personal invitation in the mail. We hope to see you there! Graduation: This Friday, May 6th is the deadline in which to request extra graduation tickets. All requests must be made through email to Principal Dan Stevens at dstevens@brandon.k12.mi.us. Please include the graduates name and how many additional tickets you are requesting. We will let the student know on Monday, May 9th how many additional tickets they were able to obtain. For all graduation questions, please contact Nancy Dery at Brandon High School, or at ndery@brandon.k12.mi.us. Teacher Appreciation Lunch: This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We will be providing lunch to our teachers this Thursday, May 5th and are looking for parents, community members, or businesses that would like to donate food to our 2nd annual Teacher Feast. If you are interested in bringing in food, please contact Nancy Dery to let her know so that we can plan accordingly. She can be reached at Brandon High School or at ndery@brandon.k12.mi.us. You can drop off the food anytime between 10:15 – 11:45. We thank you in advance. Ice Cream Social / Business Expo: This Tuesday, May 3rd Brandon High School will be hosting two amazing events together. Bring the family up to BHS for our annual ice cream social hosted by the BHS Band starting at 5:30. Also, from 4:00 – 8:00, the Ortonville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Business Expo. Come and visit over 20 local businesses. See the attached flyer for these great events. Secretary of Education: The Brandon School District is proud to host the Michigan Secretary of Education, Brian Whiston. He will be visiting our STEM Program this Wednesday to see some of the great things that are taking place at BHS. PROM: If your student is planning on attending PROM on May 13th please make sure that their dress is school appropriate. Absolutely no two piece dresses will be permitted.
