BHS News and Notes for the Week of October 17, 2016 Seniors: October 24-28 is College Application Week and many colleges and universities will be waiving their fees during that time. Our counseling staff will be meeting with seniors that week to help them fill out their college applications. So, bring your applications in to be filled out and with questions to ask. Seniors: What college is right for you? Are you thinking about the military? What scholarships may you qualify for? One on one meetings with all of our seniors have begun. Please have some questions for your counselor when they call you down to meet. Juniors: For those of you that will be taking the PSAT this Wednesday, it is strongly encouraged that you go through your practice booklet and / or do some practice questions through Khan Academy online. This one test can qualify you for thousands of dollars in scholarship money. Sophomores: This Tuesday staff from the Oakland Technical Center will be here to introduce you to the amazing programs that they have to offer. Please click HERE to go check out their amazing million dollar facility and see if it is right for you. Freshmen: Next week we bring free vision screening to BHS for all freshmen. If the Oakland Health Department screeners see any vision abnormalities in your student, you will be notified. Free and Reduced Lunch: If you qualified for free and reduced lunch last year and did not resubmit your paperwork for this year the program will expire on October 17th and you will no longer receive this service. Please call Suzanne Evenson or Katie Dubiel at 248-627-1828 for more information. Family Fun Fest: The Brandon Rotary Club will be offering a Family Fun Night with a Halloween theme on October 30th. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Athletics: Have you attended a Fall athletic event yet? Please click HERE for the schedule of events for this week and throughout the school year.
