News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 2, 2017
Welcome Back! I hope everyone in our Blackhawk family had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to bring in 2017. Everyone at BHS is well rested, rejuvenated and ready for a successful second half of the school year. Education Exploration Night: Please make sure to put January 31st from 5:00 – 8:00 on your calendars. This is the one time of year where we highlight every single class, club, sport, and activity that happens at BHS all in one night. More information will be forthcoming. We hope to see you all there. Seniors: Last year current seniors took the standardized MSTEP test. These scores will be available at all lunches on Friday for your student to pick up in the cafeteria. Blackhawk Hotline Cards: Attached is a copy of the Blackhawk Hotline card where you and your students can have contact information for crisis situations, drug and alcohol related issues, safety materials and other important information. Please know that our counselors and social workers are also available whenever needed. Final Exams: Final exams for first semester will be on January 24 – 26. These exams could account for up to 20% of your student’s overall semester grade. Make sure your students are starting to study now! Arrival Time: Just a reminder that students are expected to be in their classrooms each morning by 7:25. We are seeing an increase of students arriving late to school and receiving tardies. This increase could lead to discipline. Please help us in reminding your students to arrive at school on time each morning. Upcoming Dates to Put on Your Calendar Now: January 16th……………. No school for all students January 24th – 26th…....... Final Exams (1/2 days) January 27th…………... No School for all students January 31st…………….
