News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 16, 2017
Teacher of the Year: There is no better feeling for our teachers than to be recognized by parents or students for the great work they do with our students. Please consider nominating a teacher at Brandon High School for the Secondary Teacher of the Year award. The application is attached and due to Maria Schubring (mschubring@brandon.k12.mi.us) by the end of this week. Education Exploration Night: Please make sure to put January 31st from 5:00 – 8:00 on your calendars. This is the one time of year where we highlight every single class, club, sport, and activity that happens at BHS all in one night. More information will be forthcoming. We hope to see you all there. Vaping: Are you familiar with what “vaping’ is? More and more teens are experimenting with this concept instead of cigarette smoking, but few know that it can be even more harmful. Possessing vapes are against the rules at BHS and can carry the same disciplinary consequences as cigarettes. Please click on the article, “Vaping is Far From Harmless” for more information on this relatively new phenomena with teens. Parenting Workshop: The Brandon Public Library is hosting a Parenting With Logic Workshop for all interested parents. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Final Exams: Final exams for first semester will be on January 24 – 26. These exams could account for up to 20% of your student’s overall semester grade. Make sure your students are starting to study now! Upcoming Dates to Put on Your Calendar Now: January 24th – 26th…....... Final Exams (1/2 days) January 27th…………...
