News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of February 27, 2017
Junior Testing: Juniors will be taking the SAT (April 11th) the Work Keys (April 12th) and the MSTEP test (April 18th). It is highly recommended that all Juniors start studying now for the SAT using Khan Academy. This test is used by all colleges and universities to help determine whether or not you will be accepted. See the Counseling Office for more details. Blood Drive: Brandon High School will be hosting a blood drive from 8:00 – 2:00 on Thursday, April 9th. Please consider coming up and helping save a life. For more information please contact teacher Tim Pizzala at tpizzala@brandon.k12.mi.us. Scheduling: This week all students scheduled their classes for next school year. If you have any questions about this process please contact your student’s counselor sometime this week. Student schedules will not be changed after the scheduling process is completed. Principal’s Council: The BHS Principals are starting up an advisory council made up of parents. This council is so that parents can help advise us on everyday decisions at the high school, to gain feedback in the school improvement process and to link the community with the school. If you are interested in being a part of this group please contact Dave Wyatt at dwyatt@brandon.k12.mi.us. Thanks for your support. Parent / Teacher Conferences: Parent / Teacher Conferences will take place on Wednesday, March 22nd from 5:00 – 8:00 at BHS. We truly hope you will be able to set some time aside to come in and talk to your student’s teachers. Yearbook Ads: Senior Parents! Are you interested in placing an ad in this year’s yearbook? The deadline to do this is March 1st. Please see the attachment for more information. Have a Wonderful Week and GO BLACKHAWKS!
