Brandon High School News and Notes for the Week of March 27, 2017
Testing: All students in grades 9-11 will be participating in standardized testing the week we come back from Spring Break. These tests are mandated for graduation, so please make sure that your student is in attendance on these days. See the scheduled below for more details: Monday, April 10th………. Regular day of school for all students Tuesday, April 11th………. PSAT testing for 9th and 10th grade, SAT testing for 11th grade. No school for 12th grade students on this day. Wednesday, April 12th …… Work Keys Testing for all juniors. Regular day of school for grades 9, 10, and 12 Thursday, April 13th……… Regular day of school for all students Friday, April 14th…………. No school for all students Tuesday, April 18th………. MSTEP testing for all juniors SAT Preparation: Mrs. Kelsey is holding SAT preparation sessions every day after school in her room for all juniors. Take advantage of this opportunity. See the attached flyer for more details. Testing Odds and Ends: For testing please make sure that all students get a good night’s sleep, and brings with them 2 pencils (not mechanical) and a calculator. Encourage them to leave all other items at home. Their cell phones will not be permitted in the testing rooms. Parent / Teacher Conferences: Thank you to all parents that came to Parent / Teacher conferences this past week. If you were unable to make it, please contact your student’s individual teachers for an update on their progress. Attendance: If your student is going to be absent from school, please make sure that you call the attendance line within 24 hours to excuse them. This 24 hour hotline can be reached at 248-627-1825. Graduation: Just a reminder that graduation this year is on Friday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m. on the high school football field. More information will be coming in the weeks ahead.
