Brandon High School News and Notes for the Week of September 11, 2017
Seniors: There will be a presentation for parents of seniors who are going through the college search process this year. The presentation will be on Tuesday September 12th at 5:30 prior to the beginning of the Back-To-School Night. Topics to be covered include: helping your student find the right college fit, applications and essays, scholarships, and financial aid. The event will be in the Performing Arts Center at Brandon High School. Juniors: Once again this year Brandon High School will be administering the NMSQT / PSAT test for all Juniors on October 11th. This test is not mandatory, but highly suggested. Please see the attached letter and sign up form for more information. The deadline to sign up is Thursday, September 14th. Back to School / Curriculum Night: Tuesday, September 12th is our annual Back to School Night giving parents and guardians a chance to meet your student’s teachers and walk through their class schedule. We start at 6:00 sharp. See you then! BHS Daily Announcements: Do you want to view the video announcements done each day by our Brandon High School students? Please click on https://www.youtube.com/user/bhsnewschannel do view them every day after 10:30. Future Problem Solvers: The Future Problem Solvers season is ready to begin. Our first informational meeting will be on Monday, September 25th at 2:30 in room #133. If you are a strong writer and reader, and enjoy researching cutting-edge topics, stop by to check it out. Homework Policy: With BHS having a wide variety of classes with different expectations and workloads, homework will vary from class to class. However, please see the attached homework policy for the Brandon School District that may help give you some direction into your student’s daily homework. Athletics: We strongly encourage all students and community members to rally around our sports teams and support them with your patronage.
