Good Afternoon Brandon High School Parents and Community Members, In light of a recent Local 4 news report, the Brandon High School administrative team would like to send you some common facts and misconceptions surrounding vapes and vaping. According to a government report, in 2016 more than 2 million middle and high school students described themselves as current users of e-cigarettes which is an increase of nearly 900% since 2011. What school administrators have discovered over the past few years is that many parents are unaware of what a vape is, how it works, the different styles available, and the potential harmful side effects they may cause. Attached are two documents helpful resources that will make you more aware on the dangers of vaping. In addition, we would like to formally invite you to join us on May 14th for a presentation on vapes and prescription drugs at 6:30-8:30pm in the PAC at Brandon High School.
