News & Notes from BMS for August 21, 2019

Girl’s Basketball:  Practice will start on Monday, August 26th in the BMS gym from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Practice is from 3-5 Monday – Thursday. No practice on Friday. A full practice will be available for the girls the first week of practice.

D.C.: Mr. Hendershott will be at registration next week if you have any questions, thoughts or snacks you want to drop off.

Also, if you have not ordered your sweatshirt, please do so.  Here is the link and code to order:https://bmsdc2019.itemorder.com/sale  the code is: RQ3N3.  Please have your last name added on the back.  No nicknames.  It looks better for our school if everyone has just last names.  If you already ordered and put a first name or something different, Toolsport will be able to adjust it.  Parents that are going on the trip, we ask that you order a sweatshirt as well, as you will be in the picture too.  Yes the Sweatshirts are white this year, and the worry is that they will be dirty before the picture; we are going to ask the kids to not wear them until the day we take the picture in front of the Capital Building.  We will also wear them one day before we leave so that our staff and students will get a visual of who will be going on the trip.

I have spoken with Mr. Dienes about the Football and Basketball games that are currently scheduled for the 8th grade teams and he has assured me that  they will be moved to Tuesday that week OR, played at 4:00 that day.  Rest assured, we will not leave without your student.

Please do not forget our Mandatory Meeting on September 10th at 7:00 PM.  This meeting has been moved to the Gymnasium due to the number of people that will be attending (approximately 200 or more).  You will need to fill out a Behavior Contract, Health Form, (they are attached)  and student roommate assignment.  The first two forms you can hand in when you enter the Gymnasium, the Roommate form save until the end of the meeting.  All four roommates must turn in the form-together, so that I can confirm with them that this is what they want. There will be no changing after this meeting as I have to submit it to Worldstrides by September 12.  And yes all four students must be there.

Again, we are looking for snacks and water for the kids to have on the busses while we travel.  If you can donate a case of water or a large box of snacks from Sam's Club or Costco, you can drop those off with me at Registration or in the Main Office or bring to our meeting on September 10.  I like to have all of these items by October 1, so I can divide them up and get them organized to be put on the busses.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Have a great day and GO BLACKHAWKS!!
