News & Notes from BMS for October 21, 2019
 
Spirit Day:

Athletics: Anyone interested in trying out for 7th or 8th grade volleyball and wrestling need to sign up in the Student Services office before tryouts begin. Practice and tryouts will begin on October 28th from 2:45-5:00. In order to tryout and practice, each student must have a physical on file with the Brandon Athletic Department and an Athletic Code of Conduct signed and on file. Physical forms and the Athletic Code forms can be found on the wall outside of Student Services. Any questions please see. Mr. Hendershott, Mrs. Hendershott, or Rachel Hendershott
 
Conflict Management: The Brandon Library is hosting a free program called "Conflict Management:  Co-Parenting and Communication" on Wednesday, November 6 from 6:30-8:00 pm.  The program is facilitated by Oakland Mediation Center, who suggested that this is a good time of year for this program, with the holidays approaching. The attached flyer has more details.
 
O.A.T.S.: We still need your help it make this event a success. Please read the attached flyer to see how you can help.
 
Haunted Hallways: On Monday, October 28th BHS is holding their 3rd annual Haunted Hallways at Brandon High School.  In order to make this event a success they are in need of your help!  They are in desperate need of candy and Halloween decoration donations.  Items can be dropped off in the high school main office. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer your time to pass out candy during the event, please contact the main office at BHS. Thank you for your help to make this event a huge success for our elementary age students and community!
 
8th Grade Families: The 8th grade ELA field trip to see "A Christmas Carol" at Meadowbrook Theater is on December 12. Permission slips were sent home with students already; another copy is attached below. Permission slips and money are due back to the office or 8th grade ELA teachers on October 29, 2019. 
 
7th Grade Parents: 7th graders will be coming home with information on next year’s trip to Washington DC (2020) on October 23, 2019.  There will be a parent informational meeting that night at 7:00 P.M. in the Middle School Kiva. BMS Dance: Let it Snow is the theme for our dance on Friday, November 8th. The dance starts at 6:30 P.M. and ends promptly at 9:30 P.M. Please use the link below to sign up and volunteer.
