News & Notes from BMS for November 25, 2019

Spirit Day:
  • Tuesday, November 25th:  Wear Red American Heart Association
  • Tuesday, November 26th:  Seminar T-Shirt
  • Thursday, December 5: Wrestling Brandon Blue
  • Wednesday, December 11:  7th & 8th Grade Volleyball

7th Grade Parents:  7th grade parents interested in sending your 8th grade student to Washington D.C. next year.  We have filled the first bus and are now working on filling our 2nd bus.  Currently there are 55 students signed up and when we reach 100, we will cap it.  So don't delay in getting your student signed up for this 5 night, four day adventure that they will remember for a lifetime. They will get to see one of our Founding Fathers Plantation and how it functioned, our Capital, lay a Wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, and venture to Jamestown and Williamsburg, Virginia where our nation started. And then after D.C., we will spend a day in Philadelphia.  Here our Nation formed it's roots, declaring our Independence from England, Benjamin Franklin's workshop and Museum.  And so much more on this trip.

There are three easy ways to register:
1. Use the registration form your student brought home. (There are more in Student Services)
2. Call 1-800468-5899 and use Trip number 182910
3. Go online to WWW.Worldstrides.com and again use Trip number 182910

If you have any thoughts or questions, feel free to contact Steve Hendershott our Program Director at shendershott@brandon.k12.mi.us or 248-627-1830 ext 1349

Teen Bowling: This is a great activity to socialize, have fun and work with a coach on form and technique. Please read the flyer below if you are interested.

Toy Drive: Brandon Middle School is participating in the Community Toy Store.  We are collecting new, unwrapped toys to donate to the Community Toy Store. We will be collecting these toys from November 18 - December 11 through the Seminar classes.

Seminar T-Shirts: We are putting in a 2nd order for Seminar t-shirts. If your student would still like a Seminar t-shirt please fill out the attached order form with payment. These are also the shirts that we wear during our basketball Hoopfest in March.

CPR/First Aide/AED Classes: Be prepared when seconds count! You might save a life, but only if you know how. Learn how to respond effectively to adult, child, and infant cardiac and choking emergencies, sudden illness, bleeding, and other life-threatening conditions from the American Red Cross programs that set the national standard. You will learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator.

Have a great Thanksgiving week and GO BLACKHAWKS!!
