BMS Update April 8th, 2020
To BMS Parents/Guardians,

I hope this communication finds you and your family safe. A majority of the communications that you have been receiving are coming directly from Dr. Outlaw. I did not want to overwhelm everyone with additional emails. Below are some bullet points that I would like to bring to your attention.
  • Coming into BMS. Once the governor releases the stay at home order, then we will let people back into the building. We will put in place procedures to limit the amount of people in the building at one time while maintaining correct social distancing. Your student will not need any of their materials for the first two weeks of instruction.
  • Technology Concerns: Please use the following email help@brandon.k12.mi.us to communicate directly with our technology department. Please be specific as to your technology needs.
  • Updated Website: We have made several additions to the BMS home page. We added a Parent Resources quick-link on the left-hand side of the website. We will continue to put parent resources on there as they become available. BMS Home Page
  • Parent Q & A Session: I am holding a parent question and answer webinar for BMS families. I will go over several different topics. The meeting is Thursday, April 9th from 3:00-4:00 This meeting will be run through Zoom. Please use the following link to join the webinar. BMS Question & Answer Webinar  You will be directed to a site to register by using your email and that's it.
  • I attached our Brandon Distance Learning Plan. Dr. Outlaw sent this previously. Please take another look at it because it will outline the daily schedules.
  • Thursday April 9th. We are going to hold a Wrap-Up Seminar from 11:00-12:30 using Zoom. Your student will receive an invitation from either their Seminar teacher or Mrs. Stone if they do not have a Seminar. Sixth grade will be from 11-11:30, seventh grade 11:30-12:00, and 8th from 12:00-12:30. The teachers will explain our distance learning plan, class expectations and netiquette. This session is informal in nature, but it's really informational.
I want to say thank you to our entire community for once again rising up to handle a difficult situation. We are ALL in this together.  I encourage all of you to reach out if you are need of assistance. We are ALL here to help. Take care, stay safe, and GO BLACKHAWKS!
