BMS News & Notes
September 13th

Parent Health Agreement: Please make sure to sign a copy of our
parent Health Agreement. Please have your student turn this in to their 2nd hour teacher no later than this Friday September, 18th.

New Staff Additions:
  • Nathan Gillett is taking over for Eric Swanson. Mr. Gillett taught Wood-shop last year with Mr. Swanson. We wish Mr. Swanson all the best!!
  • Christina Wilk is taking over from Mrs. Stone. Mrs. Wilk has been a counsel or at BHS for the past two years. Good luck Mrs. Stone!!
  • Angela Stover is coming to BMS from Harvey-Swanson. Angela is teaching math and she brings a wealth of experience.
Schedule Changes: We processed several schedule changes last week. Now, Mrs. Wilk is in the process of leveling classes. Some students may have to have their classes rearranged

Lunches: This is extremely important. Starting tomorrow students will have a chance to sit where they want at lunch. After Monday and Tuesday, students will have to remain in their chosen seats. Some students will be in the cafeteria and some students will be in the gym. The gym will have the curtain closed. There will be tables and chairs spaced 6 feet apart to continue social distancing. Please have your student start making connections as to where/whom they would like to sit with.

We at BMS realize how important lunch is for our students both mentally, physically, and emotionally. We WILL NOT  however, allow a student to change their seat after Tuesday. With our current situation, this is the way it has to be in order for us to monitor and trace track where our students are at all times of our school day.

Virtual Back To School Night: This year's  Back To School Night is held virtually. All BMS teachers have put their syllabus and classroom introductory videos on their Google classrooms. Please take the time to visit our teachers websites.

Chromebook Distribution: Chromebooks are going to be issued on Wednesday, September 16th during 2nd hour. ALL Face 2 Face students have to have a school issued Chromebook. this helps us to track internet usage and to push out apps that the students are going to need for testing, etc.

Love and Logic:  The Brandon Groveland Youth Assistance will be hosting a “Parenting the Love and Logic Way” on Tuesday, October 20th.  See the attached flyer for more details.

Brandon Township Public Library:  They are  pleased to announce there is no longer a $6.00 fee for non-resident student cards. They are also offering several digital classes including Zoom for Parents. See the link below.

Picture Day: Picture day is on September 23rd. Picture Day for BLFH students will be September 23rd from 2:30 p.m-4:30 p.m at the Middle School in the cafeteria.

A big huge THANK YOU goes out to all of families. The students were amazing last week. Seeing the students reminded me of why we do this job. We do this job for the students. We do this job for our families. We do this job because we care! There are still obstacles to overcome. There are still barriers that still need to be reached and there are still children who need us. Nothing will deter us from our ultimate goal of keeping children safe during teaching and learning. Our community has been the best and will continue to be the best why.. because we are BLACKHAWKS!!!!!!!
