Half Day of School/Halloween Costumes: On Monday October 31st students will have a half day of school with dismissal at 10:55 a.m. We are allowing costumes with the following guidelines:
·  Absolutely no look-a-like weapons of any kind per the Department of Education Safe School Guidelines and our student handbook (no exceptions).
·  No fake blood or gory/violent looking costumes.
·  No wild hair dye.
·  Do not bring extra make-up to school. This makes too much of a mess in the hallways and bathrooms.
·  Costumes must adhere to the school dress code
·  No masks.
Homemade costumes are recommended and strongly encouraged. Students could dress like an American hero, athlete, dress for their future career, etc

Homework Club: The homework club is meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:35-3:05 in room 137 starting on Monday November 7th. This is an after school club where students have the opportunity to have a quiet place to work on their homework and get help from Mrs. Turk if needed.

End of 1st Card Marking: The end of the 1st marking period is Friday November 4th.

Box Top Contest: A HUGE thank you to all students for participating in the Box Top contest. The winner of the Box Top contest, Mr. Sheldon's class, brought in 909 Box tops. Please continue to collect through the Holidays for the next contest which will start January 2017.

Gobblefest: Gobblefest will be November 9th, 2:30 to 4:30.  Students can stay after school for activities including a DJ, open gym, computer lab, Bingo & a doughnut eating contest.  Entry Fee is $4 and will include 2 slices of pizza and a drink.  The concession stand will be open to purchase additional snacks.

Washington DC Trip: Parents of this year’s 7th graders.  We have moved the date of our 8th grade Washington DC Trip from March to October of next year.  Your student will receive information about this trip in their Social Studies Classes on November 7th.  You should look for this information so you can attend the Parent Meeting on November 9th at 7:00 PM in the Middle School Large Group Assembly Room located on the 2nd Floor. More information to come. Hope to see you there.

Have a great weekend and GO BLACKHAWKS!!
