News & Notes From BMS for the Week of November 7th, 2016
 
Washington DC Trip: Parents of this year’s 7th graders.  We have moved the date of our 8th grade Washington DC Trip from March to October of next year.  Your student will receive information about this trip in their Social Studies Classes on November 7.  You should look for this information so you can attend the Parent Meeting on November 9 at 7:00 PM at the Middle School in the Large Group Assembly Room located on the 2nd Floor. More information will be provided in the near future. Hope to see you there.
 
After School Tutoring: NHS students, under the direction of Charlie Pinter, are offering free after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30. Have your student take advantage of this great opportunity. Please see the attached flyer.
 
Gobblefest: Gobblefest will be November 9th, 2:30 to 4:30.  Students can stay after school for activities including a DJ, open gym, computer lab, Bingo & donut eating contest.  Entry Fee is $4 and will include 2 slices of Pizza and drink.  The concession stand will be open to purchase additional snacks. See the attached flyer.
 
Homework Club: The homework club is meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:35-3:05 in room 137 starting on Monday November 7th. This is an after school club where students have the opportunity to have a quiet place to work on their homework and get help from Mrs. Turk if needed.
 
Spirit Days: We have two spirit days this week at BMS and they are on Wednesday, November 9, 2016:  Brandon Blue Day (Volleyball) & Friday, November 11, 2016:  Armed Services/Red, White & Blue. Please show your school spirit by wearing these colors on the above mentioned days.
 
No School: There is no school for students on Tuesday, November 8th. This is a professional development day for our teachers.
 
PTO Fundraiser: This year again, the Holiday Greenery Fundraiser offers the convenience to order and pick up Holiday Greenery at Brandon Middle School.  Placing your order through the PTO will support BMS students.  Wojo's will donate a percentage of your order to the BMS PTO. Please see the attached order form.
 
Food Drive: Brandon Middle School is having a food drive to benefit OCEF. Please see the attached flyer for all of the details.
