News & Notes from BMS for December 21st, 2017

Lost  & Found: On Tuesday, January 9th we are going to donate all of our lost and found items to St. Anne’s Church. Please have your student come down and look for any items that they might be missing.

7th Grade Parents/Guardians: It’s not too late to register for the Washington D.C. trip planned for October of next year, when your student is an 8th grader. The 8th grade trip is a wonderful educational trip that incorporates many subjects.

The trip will include stops in Boston, MA, Philadelphia PA, Washington D.C. and Williamsburg VA as well as one of our President’s Plantation home.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Hendershott at shendershott@brandon.k12.mi.us or 248-627-1830 ext. 2304  or you can register by going online to www.worldstrides.com/signup  (use Trip number 152952) or call 1-800-468-5899.

Many scholarship opportunities will be coming up in the new year and the easy payment plan will help with cost of the trip.  Also, students will be writing a paper to see if they will be chosen to present a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier-a great honor and it represents Brandon Middle School and our Community.

Baseball Meeting: Attention HS and MS Baseball Players!  Mark your calendar and plan to attend on Thursday January 4th, 2018 6:30pm in the high school cafeteria.  New Varsity Baseball Coach, Greg Ganfield will be hosting an informational meeting for the parents/guardians of all high school and middle school boys in grades 7-12 who are interested in playing this spring.  It is strongly recommended that at least one adult representative for each player attend the meeting.  This will be an opportunity to meet the high school baseball staff, ask questions and receive important information about the spring season.
If you have a conflict and cannot attend on this date, or have additional questions, please contact Coach Ganfield via email: gganfield@aol.com.  I am very excited and pleased to be able to work with the young men, school personnel, community, and parents, of Brandon.  I wish all of you a Merry and blessed Christmas season, with your families.  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.  I hope to see you on January 4th...  Go Blackhawks!
