News & Notes from BMS for October 1st, 2018

Spirit Day: Tuesday, October 2nd Brandon Blue DAY Cross Country

Water Update: We are 3-4 weeks away from being able to use the new well here at BMS. The students have been absolutely amazing while we work through this challenge. I am once again asking everyone for their patience while we work through this situation.

8th Grade Washington DC Trip Information: As we have put the Itinerary together we have realized that we cannot drive through Canada (No Passports for everyone) and that will add about 3 hours to the drive to Boston and our departure from BMS will not be at 6:00 PM in the evening.
So please pay attention to the details that follow:

1.  All Bags must be dropped off at BMS in the KIVA/Small Group Assembly Room on Tuesday October 16 from 7-9:00PM.  Mr Hendershott will remain for the Football Players and Cheerleaders who will be returning from Clio.  Please bring everything when picking up your son/daughter Tuesday night.

2. Any medication students will need on the trip will need to be in a Ziploc Baggie, with their name on it and instructions for the medication written inside the bag on a piece of paper.

3. Students Worldstrides Lanyards will be handed out Tuesday night as well.

On the 17th when school ends, students will need to put their school materials in their lockers and report to the KIVA to pick up their Luggage and then await instructions to board the buses. We will begin boarding at approximately 2:45 PM and depart at 3:15 PM.

I know this will be difficult for some to come to school and say good bye. Our only alternative would be to arrive in Boston later in the day causing us to miss many sights.  Also, we will be stopping at an Ohio rest area which has 3-5 fast food restaurants, so you may want to give your son/daughter a few more dollars for them to purchase a snack at that point.

7th Grade Parents/Guardians: Your student will be bringing important information home on the 2019 8th Grade Washington DC Trip on October 24th.  There will also be an informational meeting that night at Brandon Middle School in the Upstairs KIVA/Small Group Assembly room from 7:00-8:30PM.  Sign ups for the 2019 Trip will begin on October 24th allowing you to use the Trip Payment Plan.

Further Questions can be directed to Stephen Hendeshott at 248-627-1830 ext 1349 or shendershott@brandon.k12.mi.us

Nature Education Programs: Oakland County PArks is offering 16 different nature education programs. Please read the attached flyer for more information about these nature based programs.

Count Day: Fall Count Day is Wednesday, October 3rd.

Have a great day and GO BLACKHAWKS!!
