News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of November 5, 2018 Career Night: On December 6, 2018 there will be a Career Night held at the Oakland Technical Campus in Clarkston with speakers and representatives from many career fields. Please see the attached flyer for more details. Seniors: As you prepare to graduate, please see the attached senior bulletin for end of the year senior information and important dates. Senior Acceptance Letters: Seniors! As you get accepted into colleges please bring your acceptance letters into the Counseling Office. We are keeping track on a display where all of our students are getting accepted to. Juniors: It is never to early to start preparing for the SAT test. The College Board says that the best way to prepare is by going to Khan Academy to see actual SAT questions. Most of you have an account already, so start your preparation today. End of Marking Period #1: This week marks the end of the first marking period. Report cards will be sent home with your student next Friday, November 9th. Challenge Day: On December 5th and 6th we will be offering our students the opportunity to attend the highly acclaimed Challenge Day. We are in need of community members that would like to take part in this day as well. For more information, watch the video at Challengeday.org. Please contact Mr. Stevens directly if you are interested in being a part of either one of these days. Appropriate Dress: As the weather continues to get colder, please make sure that your student is dressing in layers. Some classrooms are warmer than others. Students will not be permitted to wear coats or bring blankets to class. Thank you! Non-Homestead Millage: Learn more about the Brandon millage vote that will take place on November 6th from the attached flyer.
