News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of February 25, 2019

Spring Sports:  If your student is planning on playing a Spring Sport and does not have an updated physical within the last year, please make sure that they get one ASAP.  Spring sports officially start the week of March 11th.  See our Athletic Office for more details.

Scheduling:  Your students will be scheduling their classes for next year the week of March 4th.  Please take some time to look through the course catalog together and have some conversation about what classes may best prepare them for their future.  See your student’s counselor if you have any questions.

Sophomores:  4th Time Rescheduled due to snow days:  If you are a sophomore with a 3.5 GPA or higher, the DEEP program may be something you would want to take advantage of.  This is a program where you can simultaneously receive both college and high school credit while still in high school.  Please join us Tuesday night, February 26th at 6:30 for more information.  See the attached flyer for more details.

Career Expos:  Oakland Schools and Waterford Kettering High School will be hosting career expos both for parents and students.  Please see the attached flyers for these great opportunities that are happening on March 13th and March 26th.

College Fair:  Lake Orion High School puts on one of the best College Fairs in the state.  If you are starting to look at colleges and universities, this event that will take place on March 18th is a must for our students.  Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Make Up Days:  Please be advised that it is possible that we may have to make up some of our snow days the week of June 17th, so please keep this week open.  We will keep you up to date in future Eblasts.

Blackhawk Hotline:  If there is ever anything that you would want the high school administration to know or report, you can call the Blackhawk Hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This is done anonymously.  The Blackhawk hotline is 248-660-0138.
