News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of March 18, 2019 Parent Teacher Conferences: We encourage all parents to attend our Parent Teacher Conferences which will be on Wednesday March 20th from 5:00 – 8:00. SAT Prep for Juniors: For the next two weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, we will be offering SAT Prep sessions in the Media Center from 2:30 – 3:30. With the test coming up on April 9th, take advantage of this valuable information. The College Board also encourages you to go to Khan Academy for SAT practice as well. Advanced Placement Testing: If your student is taking an Advanced Placement test, registration forms went home this week for testing. If you receive free and reduced lunch, we just found out that these tests only cost 5.00 (not $33.00 as the form indicates) apiece. All students are encouraged to take these tests as you could obtain college credit for scoring well on them. See the Counseling Department if you have any questions. Seniors: Please see the Counseling Office for multiple local scholarships in which you could apply for. Also, please check out the Counseling Scholarship and Financial Aid informational page to help you in your quest to help pay for college. College Fair: Lake Orion High School puts on one of the best College Fairs in the state. If you are starting to look at colleges and universities, this event that will take place on March 18th is a must for our students. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
