News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of August 19, 2019

Welcome Back:  Please see the official Welcome Back Letter that is attached for information about the upcoming 2029 – 2020 school year.

Juniors:  We are once again offering the NMSQT / PSAT test on October 16th to all Juniors.  This test is highly recommended as it is a great way to prepare for the SAT in April, and is used to identify Merit Scholars throughout the state in which scholarship money can be obtained.  The cost is $20.00.  Please make sure that you turn in the attached form with payment to the Counseling Office by September 13th.

Registration:  Registration this year is a one day event to be held on August 21st.  Depending on the high school construction, this event may be held at Brandon Middle School (More information to come).  At registration, you will get your class schedule, have your pictures taken, be able to buy this year’s yearbook at a reduced rate, and purchase your parking pass.  If you are unable to show up for registration, your schedule will be available through the Parent and Student Portal starting on August 26th.   It is imperative that you fill out the Online Registration Form before attending registration.
Seniors:              8:00 – 10:00
Juniors:              10:00 – 12:00
Sophomores:      1:00 – 4:00
Freshmen:          1:00 – 4:00

Yearbook:  If you are interested in ordering a BHS Yearbook at a reduced price, see and fill out the attached order form.  We are offering reduced rates if you purchase yours at registration.  Bring the form with you.  If you have any questions about this year’s yearbook contact Mrs. Kelsey at kkelsey@brandon.k12.mi.us

Medications:  Does your student have any medications (including over the counter) that they will need to take during the school day?  If so, please bring the medication into Brandon High School and fill out the form that allows for us to administer it during the school day.  It is against BHS policy for students to be taking or possessing any medications on their own during the school day.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Testing Out:  For all students who have previously signed up to test out of a class, the testing will be September 21st.  Due to construction at BHS, this will be in the Brandon Middle School  Media Center.
