News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of September 23, 2019
 
Parent Portal:  This feature is now up and running!  The program (MISTAR) that we use to house your student’s grades, attendance, and other important information, now has an App for parents to access on their cell phones.  Please see the Mobile App Installation instructions that are attached to get yours today.  If you do not have, or remember, your login name and password, call Brandon High School. 
 
Advanced Placement Students:  It is very important that every student taking an Advanced Placement class to do one of the following:

Students who plan on taking one or more AP exams:
1.Login to myap.collegeboard.org and join your AP class's online portal (if you have not already done so)
2.Your AP exam choice is set to 'Yes' by default
3.Submit payment for the exam(s) to the counseling office by October 1st
($94 per AP Exam) ($5 per exam with fee waiver for free and reduced lunch students)

or


Students who do not plan on taking an AP Exam:
1.Login to myap.collegeboard.org and join your AP class's online portal (if you have not already done so)
2.Talk to your teachers about your concerns regarding the AP Exam(s)
3.Your AP exam choice is set to 'Yes' by default.  You must change this to 'No

Colleges Visiting:  Many colleges and universities will be visiting BHS in the upcoming weeks to meet with students that may be interested in attending.  Please see the attached schedule for dates and have your junior or senior sign up in the Counseling Office to attend these presentations.

October 2nd – Official School Count Day
October 5th – Homecoming Dance
October 7th – Picture Retakes
October 8th & 9th – Parent Teacher Conferences
October 11th – No School
October 16th – NMSQT / PSAT testing for Juniors
October 24th – FAFSA Parent Workshop
October 31st – ½ Day of School
November 1st – End of 1st Marking Period
