News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of May 4, 2020

Parent Meeting:  There will be a Zoom webinar on Wednesday May 6th at 7:00 p.m. for all parents interested in learning more about how Distance Learning is going, upcoming events, and to be able to ask the high school administration questions.  This webinar does require that you sign up in advance, so please click HERE to sign up.

Teacher Appreciation:  This week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  Please let your student’s teachers know how much that you appreciate all that they do throughout the school year.  They truly are amazing and are working extra hard providing your students a quality learning experience.

Student-Athletes:  2020 Fall Sports Eligibility will be determined by current 2nd semester Final Grades.  Athletes must pass All classes in order to be eligible to compete in the Fall.  Brandon High School will probably not be offering summer school, so any athlete who fails 1 or more classes, would be ineligible for the Fall season.  If you have any questions, please email Mr. Deines - cdeines@brandon.k12.mi.us

Free and Reduced Lunch:  We are aware that during some families may be experiencing a reduction of income due to the pandemic.  Please see the attached information on how you may qualify for free and reduced meals and the EBT Program during this time.

Distance Learning Grades:  Last week was the deadline for your student to indicate with each teacher if they are choosing Pass/Fail or a letter grade for each class.  If your students did not do this, please have them contact their teacher immediately.

Technology:  Brandon High School is committed to doing everything we can to ensure that students have access to the appropriate technology during Distance Learning.  If you have questions or need any kind of assistance, please contact our technology department at help@brandon.k12.mi.us

National Honor’s Society:  NHS new member selection has been postponed until the Fall.  Eligible candidates will receive information the first week of the 2020-21 school year.  Email Tammie Mirolli or Dennis Shannon if you have any questions.

Scholarships:  All of our local scholarship providers are committed to being flexible with applications due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  All application deadlines have been bumped back to April 30th.  Also, all applications can be completed and mailed/emailed directly to the sponsors.  Please download the following applications and submit them to be considered!
