Brandon High School News and Notes for the Week of August 31, 2020
 
 
It is hard to believe that in just over a week we will be starting back to school!  While all of you have been on a well deserved break, the Brandon High School staff have been working extremely hard to prepare for you a safe building with a quality academic schedule.  Please note that our daily schedule has changed in the past week and is attached.  The school day this year starts at 7:20 and will end at 1:50 and will run on a hybrid block.  The first days of school are:

* September 8th and 9th for students with last names A-L
* September 10th and 11th for students with last names M-Z

Please see the attached letter that was sent out earlier this week explaining this new schedule.
 
Class Schedules:  Class schedules should be available by the end of the week on MISTAR through the student and parent portals.  If you need help with your login name contact Tawn Hill at 248-627-1866.
 
Parent Webinar:  On Tuesday, September 1st the Brandon High School Administration will be hosting a back to school seminar for all parent whose student will be attending school in person.  We will go over safety protocols, expectations, and overall school procedures.  Please sign up for this webinar by clicking HERE.
 
Seniors:  Please see the attached documents about submitting your pictures for the Yearbook as well as placing senior ads in the yearbook.  Deadlines are fast approaching.  You can also find additional information by going to the Brandon High School Wingspan Website.
 
Drivers Training:  Courtesy Driving School will be hosting classes virtually through the month of December.  To sign up for classes, please call them at 1-800-256-9559.
 
Freshmen Orientation:  This year’s freshmen orientation will be Tuesday, September 1st from 1:00 – 3:00.  This will be led my our amazing Link Crew program out on our football field.  Link Crew students will be contacting your freshmen with more information about this exciting day.   Please see the attached letter that was sent out to all freshmen earlier this week.
 
Parking Permits:  Students needing a parking permit can come up to Brandon High School on Tuesday, September 1st according the schedule below.  Parking spots will be issued on a first come first serve basis and will also be available throughout the school year.  Please make sure that you fill out the attached form and bring it with you when securing a parking spot.
Seniors (9:00 – 10:30)
Juniors (10:30 – 12:00)
 
Medication Forms:  If you have any medication that needs to be on file with Brandon High School (Prescription or over the counter) please fill out the attached form and bring it into the office anytime between 7:00 – 2:00 during the month of August or September.  These forms need to be filled out every year.
 
 
Dates to Place on Your Calendar Now:
September 1st – Freshmen Orientation at BHS (1:00 – 3:00)
September 8th – First Day of School
September 18th – Picture Day
